First historical mentions of Kamianna date back to 1637 where bishop Jakub Zadzik endowed the Greek Catholic parish.

There were two small churches in Kamianna - a Greek Catholic built in 1892 and an Orthodox one built in 1935. After the Lemko inhabitants were resettled, settlers from Beskid Sądecki, Gorce and Pieniny rebuilt the former Orthodox church. Sculptures by J. Stefaniak are especially beautiful.

The present history of Kamianna is associated with the person of dr Henryk Ostach, a priest who performed the function of the president of Polish bee-keepers for many years.



The program of the tour includes visits to the following places:

• Parish Church (former Orthodox church),
• Ethnographic museum of sculpted beehives, where you will learn about the history of forest bee-keeping and apiculture, the oldest profession in Poland,
• Bee-keeper's House,
• Tasting mead in a café.
