Wierchomla is a former Lemkos' village founded in 1601. Before resettlement of Lemkos' population until 1947 it counted 55 households. After resettlements the village fell into decline with only few households left. Wierchomla owes its present development to the skiing centre created here in the 90's on the initiative of Marcin Frydrych.

Bacówka PPTK nad Wierchomlą
is located on a 895 m viewing area of a ridge connecting the peaks of Runek and Pusta Wielka. The initiator of the mountain shelter construction was Stanisław Nowak, a former PPTK Krynica Division activist. A branch of the forest road from the Valley of Szczawnik leads to the shelter.



The program includes: ride down the picturesque Poprad River Valley to Wierchomla, ascent by chairlift to Pusta peak, a walk to the hostel (Bacówka nad Wierchomlą, c.a. 1 hour).

The program includes c.a. 1 hour of free time.
